Why should you play it?

Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 is a game that appeals to both casual and hardcore fans of the Dragon Ball series. It offers a fast-paced and dynamic combat system that allows you to fly, dash, teleport, transform, and unleash powerful attacks in large 3D environments that can be destroyed by your actions. It also has a variety of game modes that let you experience different scenarios and challenges, such as Galaxy Mode, where you can play through individual characters' stories and unlock power-ups and new paths; Battle Zone, where you can fight against opponents from different zones and earn rewards; World Tournament, where you can participate in either Tenkaichi Budokai or Cell Games-style competitions; and online multiplayer, where you can battle against other players from around the world.

Gameplay and Features

Combat System and Raging Soul Mode

The combat system of Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 is similar to that of its predecessor, but with some improvements and additions. The game uses a simple control scheme that makes it easy to perform basic attacks, ki blasts, super attacks, ultimate attacks, grabs, counters, dodges, pursuits, armor breaks, and more. The game also introduces a new feature called Raging Soul Mode, which is a special state that increases your combat abilities to the ultimate level. While in Raging Soul Mode, you cannot use super or ultimate attacks unless you equip a special item, but your physical attacks become stronger and faster, and you can dash infinitely without depleting your ki. To activate Raging Soul Mode, you need to fill up your ki meter by attacking or charging, and then press L2 + R2 (PS3) or LT + RT (Xbox 360). The mode lasts for a limited time depending on how much ki you have when you activate it.

Galaxy Mode and Battle Zone

Galaxy Mode is the main mode of Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2, where you can play as any of the available characters and follow their respective stories. Each character has their own planet in the game's galaxy map, where you can select different missions to complete. Some missions are based on events from the anime or manga, while others are original or hypothetical scenarios. Completing missions will reward you with items, skills, costumes, and more. You can also unlock new characters and stages by clearing certain missions. Some missions have special conditions or requirements, such as using a specific character, having a certain amount of health or ki, or defeating the enemy within a time limit. Battle Zone is another mode of Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2, where you can fight against enemies from different zones and earn points and rewards. Each zone has a different theme and difficulty level, and you can choose to fight either alone or with a partner. The more zones you clear, the higher your rank will be. You can also unlock new zones by clearing certain conditions. Some of the zones are based on the anime or manga, such as the Saiyan Saga Zone, the Frieza Saga Zone, the Cell Saga Zone, and the Majin Buu Saga Zone. Others are original or hypothetical, such as the What-If Zone, the Ultimate Zone, the Dragon Ball GT Zone, and the Movie Zone.

Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans OVA

Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans is a remake of the 1993 OVA Dragon Ball Z Side Story: Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans, which was originally released as a bonus feature for the Famicom game Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Saiyajin Zetsumetsu Keikaku. The remake features updated animation and voice acting, as well as some changes to the plot and characters. The story revolves around Dr. Raichi, a survivor of the Tuffle race that was exterminated by the Saiyans. Dr. Raichi seeks revenge on the Saiyans by creating a device that emits Destron Gas, a substance that can destroy all life on Earth. Goku and his friends must stop Dr. Raichi and his minions before it is too late. The OVA also introduces Hatchiyack, a powerful machine that can generate illusions of enemies based on the hatred of its creator. The OVA can be watched in Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 after completing certain missions in Galaxy Mode or Battle Zone. You can also unlock additional scenes and endings by fulfilling certain conditions in the game. The OVA is divided into four parts, each lasting about 10 minutes. You can watch them in order or skip to any part you want. The OVA also features an original theme song called "Kiseki no Honō yo Moeagare!" (Miraculous Flame, Blaze Up!) performed by Hironobu Kageyama, the singer of many Dragon Ball songs.

Characters and Stages

Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 boasts an impressive roster of over 90 playable characters from the Dragon Ball universe, some of which are new to the video game series. The characters include heroes, villains, allies, and rivals from various sagas and movies, such as Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Gohan, Krillin, Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, Broly, Cooler, Bardock, Turles, Android 13, Bojack, Janemba, Gogeta, Vegito, Gotenks, and many more. Each character has their own unique moves and abilities, as well as different forms and transformations that they can access during battle. Some characters also have alternate costumes that you can unlock and use in the game. The game also features over 20 stages that you can fight in, each with their own background music and environmental effects. The stages are based on locations from the anime or manga, such as the World Martial Arts Tournament, Planet Namek, Cell Games Arena, Hell, Supreme Kai's Planet, and more. Some stages also have multiple areas that you can switch between during battle, such as the Earth's Wasteland, which has three areas: Rocky Area, Glacier Area, and Volcano Area. The stages can also be affected by your actions, such as destroying buildings, rocks, trees, or mountains with your attacks. Some stages also have special events that can occur randomly or triggered by certain conditions, such as meteor showers, lightning strikes, or giant waves.
